Free visual inspection and a written scope of work before any mitigation begins - photos, moisture readings, and drying logs go in your claim file
The scope we write is the scope we bill. Anything new gets shown to you, in writing, before we touch it.
Meet the San Diego Team Behind DryMark Restoration San Diego
We’re the crew that shows up when your kitchen’s under three inches of water or when a slow leak behind the drywall in your Clairemont bathroom finally announces itself with a smell you can’t ignore. Every person on this page has been background-checked, licensed, and trained to the same standard that Alicia Brennan established when she founded this company in 2011. What unites us isn’t a handbook. It’s that none of us will start a job without putting the price in writing first, and none of us will leave without handing you the photo record that proves what we found and what we did about it.
Our People
Alicia Brennan, Owner
I started DryMark Restoration San Diego after twelve years as a claims adjuster, watching homeowners lose tens of thousands on legitimate water damage claims because the restoration company they’d hired couldn’t produce the documentation their carrier required. I built this company around that gap. I still review every drying log before it goes to an adjuster, and I still carry a moisture meter on every site visit because I don’t trust anyone’s numbers until I’ve verified them myself. On weekends you’ll find me at the Torrey Pines glider port, usually with a coffee and a book on building science, watching the fog roll in and trying to predict whether it’ll push inland far enough to spike humidity readings in Scripps Ranch basements.
Marcus T., Lead Water Damage Technician
Marcus has been running extraction and drying crews in San Diego County for fourteen years, and he still treats every job like he’s proving himself on his first day. He’s IICRC-certified in Water Damage Restoration (WRT) and Applied Structural Drying (ASD), with additional certification in thermography, which means he can trace a moisture migration path through your walls without opening them up unnecessarily. Marcus grew up in City Heights and still lives there with his two kids; he knows which blocks sit on clay-heavy soil that holds water against foundations and which ones drain fast enough that we can sometimes skip subfloor injection. His drying logs are legendary among the adjusters we work with, dense with psychrometric data, vapor pressure differentials, and daily grain-per-pound readings that he explains to homeowners in plain English without talking down to them. He keeps a waterproof notebook in his truck where he sketches floor plans from memory and notes which baseboard heaters tend to hide slow leaks.
Elena R., Senior Mold Remediation Installer
Elena joined us in 2019 after eight years in environmental abatement, and she runs our containment builds like she’s constructing a cleanroom, which in effect she is. She’s certified through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) in Mold Remediation (AMRT) and holds her California State License Board asbestos certification, which matters more than most homeowners realize when we’re opening up walls in pre-1978 construction across North Park, South Park, and the older neighborhoods of La Mesa. Elena grew up in Tijuana and crosses the border daily; she’s fluent in the Spanish that many of our San Diego homeowners need to understand exactly what’s happening in their houses. She has a particular specialty in tertiary drying, the final phase where we drop humidity low enough that dormant spores can’t reactivate, and she documents every stage with the photo record that goes straight to your adjuster. Outside work she restores vintage motorcycles and applies the same patience to both pursuits.
David K., Service Coordinator
David is the voice you get when you call (619) 330-9541 at 2 a.m. because your water heater finally gave out and your garage in Mira Mesa is flooding. He’s been with us since 2017, and before that he dispatched for a commercial plumbing outfit, so he knows the difference between a true emergency and something that can wait for morning, and he won’t pretend otherwise just to get a truck rolling. David coordinates our crew schedules, maintains our equipment inventory from Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, and Injectidry, and tracks every job’s documentation to make sure the photo record, drying log, and written scope all land in your hands and your adjuster’s inbox on schedule. He’s the one who calls you thirty minutes before arrival, every time, because he hates being surprised by service people and assumes you do too. David surfs dawn patrol at Tourmaline most weekdays before his shift starts, which is why he’s unusually calm when your basement is not.
Jasmine L., Restoration Apprentice
Jasmine came to us in 2023 through a workforce development program focused on building trades, and she’s completing her IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician certification while working full-time on our crew. She started on demolition and content pack-out, the unglamorous foundation of every restoration job, and she’s progressed to setting up dehumidification arrays and reading psychrometric charts, the graphs that tell us whether we’re actually drying your structure or just moving moisture around. Jasmine was born in San Diego and still lives with her grandmother in Encanto; she knows which streets flood first when a winter storm overwhelms the storm drains and which crawl spaces in older homes are too tight for standard equipment. She asks more questions than anyone on the team, which is exactly what you want in someone who’s learning to document moisture readings that could determine whether your insurance claim gets paid. She keeps a running list of every material trade name she’s encountered, from Luan plywood to WonderBoard, and she’s usually right about what we’re going to find behind a wall before we open it.
One Standard, Every Job

Every person on this page works under The Haven Standard, the same framework Alicia Brennan established in 2011. That means Haven Standard, Clause 1: a written price before any work starts, with no exceptions and no scope-creep additions once we’re inside your home. It means a documented photo record on every visit, included as standard, never sold as an upgrade. It means our 365-Day Done Right Promise, a signed guarantee stamped on every job, not a verbal assurance that evaporates when the truck pulls away. And it means that when we deploy professional-grade drying systems from Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, and Injectidry, we document every reading to IICRC, RIA, and IFA standards so your restoration invoice becomes a payable insurance claim, not a negotiation.
We’re independently owned and operated. No franchise handbook tells us how to treat your home. Alicia does, and she still checks the numbers herself.
